🔊 Release Note (2025-08-25): review credits/quota, tipping, data deletion, and AAAI 2026 bug fix

Dear CSPaper Review Users,
Here comes several significant improvements/changes in the CSPaper Review released today!
Free Monthly Reviews + Credit Option
Since launching in late June, our community has already completed 30,000+ reviews. The response has been incredible — beyond anything we imagined. But it also means our token, server, and tooling costs have grown unsustainably. We’re a small, unfunded team of researchers and engineers, covering these costs out of pocket. To keep this service running and improving, we have made the following update:

Every user will receive 3 free reviews each month (automatically topped up).

If you’d like more reviews, you can purchase credits. 1 credit = 1 full review. Currently, we offer three packages (see below). You can choose your preferred currency (USD, EUR or CNY) in the menu highlighted by red circle below. The receipt/invoice will be emailed to you right after your purchase.

If a review cannot be delivered or is desk-rejected, it won’t count against your quota or credits.

You can track your spendings of each credit and quota easily.

You will be prompted to confirm the consumption of your credit or free review quota. By default, monthly free review quota will be used first before consuming any of your credits.

On each review result page, you can see the credit/quota consumption information by clicking the "..." (three dot) menu.

Tipping
Review credits are now available at very affordable rates (we don’t make a profit from them). To give you another way to support us, we’ve added a “Leave a tip” button that appears when you leave a rating of 4 or 5. You can choose how many credits to tip — think of it as buying our developers a coffee.
Our mission remains the same: to make peer review fairer, more sustainable, and more useful for researchers. Many of you have already used the product hundreds of times, and your trust, engagement, and support mean the world to us. Thank you!
Self-Service Review Data Deletion
You now have full control over your review data. From the review results page of any paper, click the “...” (three-dot) menu and select Delete to remove the data associated with that review.
Before deletion, you’ll be asked to confirm this irreversible action.
Bug Fix: AAAI 2026 Main Track Review Score DistributionWe identified an issue where the review score distribution in the AAAI 2026 Main Track deviated from realistic patterns. The review content itself remained reliable, but numeric ratings were temporarily affected.
The root cause has been found, and fixes are in place now https://review.cspaper.org/
