NeurIPS 2025 has officially transitioned from a traditional 10-point review scale to a more streamlined 6-point system. This shift aims to simplify evaluations, reduce ambiguity, and foster greater consistency across peer reviews.

✅ New NeurIPS 2025 Review Scoring Scale

According to the official NeurIPS 2025 Reviewer Guidelines, the revised scoring system is as follows:

    • 6 – Strong Accept
    • 5 – Accept
    • 4 – Borderline Accept
    • 3 – Borderline Reject
    • 2 – Reject
    • 1 – Strong Reject

This simplified scale is specifically designed to clarify decision-making and improve the overall review experience for both reviewers and authors.

🔍 Additional Key Updates for NeurIPS 2025

    • Responsible Reviewing Initiative: NeurIPS emphasizes timely, high-quality reviews. Authors who are reviewers must complete all assigned reviews to gain access to reviews of their own submissions. Delayed or incomplete reviewing can result in restricted access to feedback.

    • Reciprocal Reviewing Requirement: Each submission must nominate at least one author as a potential reviewer, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the peer-review process.

    • Review Timeline:

      • Review Period: May 29 – July 2, 2025
      • Author Rebuttal Phase: July 24 – July 30, 2025
      • Reviewer-Author Discussions: July 31 – August 6, 2025

Stay informed and good luck with your submissions!
