Big news dropped this week and it’s got major implications for anyone planning to attend NeurIPS 2025 or looking for alternative presentation opportunities in Europe.

🧭 NeurIPS Adds Official Second Location in Mexico City

Why? US visa woes and overflow problems from past years have pushed NeurIPS organizers to try something new.

️ Dates: Dec 2–7, 2025
Main site: San Diego Convention Center
Second site: Mexico City (limited to ~500 attendees)

Key Details:

• The Mexico City site is official and will mirror the San Diego schedule.
• Only authors who are accepted and can’t get to San Diego will be prioritized.
• Workshops and tutorials can be held in Mexico City (if they’ve been accepted).
• Aimed at increasing inclusivity and accessibility (especially for visa-challenged folks).

Enter EurIPS – A Euro-Friendly NeurIPS Presentation Venue

Ever wish NeurIPS was more accessible to Europeans? Wish granted (sort of)!

What is EurIPS?

• A community-driven venue where you can present your accepted NeurIPS papers.
• Not an official NeurIPS location, but endorsed by NeurIPS and co-developed by ELLIS.
• Co-located with the ELLIS UnConference and features independent workshops.

️ Timeline:

• Dec 2: ELLIS UnConference – Open poster sessions + ELLIS workshops
• Dec 3–5: EurIPS main conf – Keynotes, NeurIPS paper presentations, posters
• Dec 6–7: EurIPS workshops (submit your proposals now!)
